- Jump, bounce, and power-up through visually stunning side-scrolling worlds filled with Mushroom Kingdom madness!- All-new mushrooms make Mario and Luigi ultra-tiny or ultra-huge, and new items like the Blue Shell (which transforms him into a spinning shell that wipes out enemies) will keep you on your toes.
- The worlds are swarming with classic enemies like Goombas and Koopas, but watch out for new foes, big bosses, and unbelievable challenges!
- The bros are foes! As Mario and Luigi, two players can battle for stars on specially-designed levels over local wireless. The game won't end until one bro reigns supreme!

My 6 year old LOVES his DS and his favorite game so far is the Mario game it came with. My best advise is to get a warranty. My son's already has a black mark on the screen that Nintendo says we have to ship to them to get it fixed at the discounted rate of $50 plus shipping and handling. The discount is due to it being brand new. I wish I had the warranty my girlfriend bought.

I'll admit, i'm no gamer; the last system I owned before getting my DS was a Nintendo 64, and aside from a few tries at Mortal Combat on a friend's Game Boy and a few newer Star Wars games, I was never really into playing video games. But the DS looked fun and not that hard to pick up, so I gave it a shot. The fact that it came with a new Mario game (talk about a trip down memory lane), and I found it at a great price just made it even better.
The console itself is easy to use and fairly well designed. There are only a couple things that bug me: the touch screen scratches easily if you use it alot (and most of the games I play are heavy on touch screen play), and the only screen protectors that I could find are hard to apply without airbubbles. Also, the slot that holds the stylus (very convienient otherwise; if it wasn't there, I'm sure I'd have lost both styluses within a week) is on the right side, which is a little annoying if you're a lefty like me. Being able to borrow my cousins' unused GBA games is great, and the variety of DS games availible is impressive. The Mario edition DS is a rather eye-smarting shade of red (though mine is a lot darker than in the picture, even on the outside of the box), but it's nice that the game comes with it, and Mario fans will like the color and the logo.
As for New Super Mario Bros, the game is fun and challenging. It can get a little frustrating, if you're not a frequent gamer, and you can't save the game until you beat the monsters in the tower at the end of each level, but otherwise it's a great game.

my son loves this.. he has and continues to acquire more games for the ds. It is good and also a learning tool with the brainiac games.

I looked every where for this and found it on Amazon for a better price than Walmart. I fought the Black Friday crowd and found a better deal with no shipping and handling right at Amazon.
