It holds my DS wonderfully. It's snug and secure, as long as I take the protective shell off. I purchased two and my daughter loves it too!

My sister has this case and I really liked hers, so I bought one for myself. It keeps a few games and an extra stylus, plus can accept a strap. The one downside is that it delivers a serious pinch to ones fingers if not careful. It took me a few pinches to get a healthy respect for the closure. Otherwise this is a great accessory for the price.

I bought one of these for my son after his last DS broke. It's a very nice case for the price. The inside is lined with a rubber cushion that grips the DS Lite snugly. I placed the DS inside and turned it upside down to see if I could shake it out. It stayed put until I pried the DS out. Same with the little games. They don't budge until I take them out. Everything holds securely.
The outside is tough plastic. We got black and it is shiny, a real fingerprint magnet. It is bulky, but that's the price we pay for the extra cushioning. Still, I find it attractive.
The button that opens the case needs a bit of pressure to work. Younger kids might have trouble with that. On the other hand, if you drop the DS in this case, it won't open up and your DS won't fly out.
My son did get pinched in the back of the case where it opens up. Be careful there. I can see how that happens when I tried it myself.
One improvement I think would be nice is if they had placed a hole where the power button is. That way, my son could play the DS without removing it. The bulk may prevent him from wanting to play like that, but at least it should be an option.
Overall, a great buy. My son can keep his DS Lite and games stored together when he lugs it around with him and his DS is protected from falls.

Was optimistic when we rec'd this - but within 1 day of my 7 year old using it the small, brittle closure tab which holds the case shut - and not because my daughter was rough with it - she was so excited about her new "pink case" she was very gentle. Considering this is a case designed to protect a DS - I was shocked at how flimsy the construction was on this critical piece. We returned it.

My three kids all have these cases for their DS systems, and they are the best around. The interior is well padded, and despite being dropped, neither the case or the DS inside sustained any damage. The case also stores a spare stylus and six games but is still pretty compact. Available in the same colors as the DS line, so you can get one to match your system's color.
